Idol Ridge Winery Awarded Best Riesling

The Finger Lakes International Wine & Spirit Competition is a world-class competition awarding prestigious wines from all over the globe all while supporting an amazing, local cause- Camp Good Days. All of the proceeds from this competition are donated to Camp Good Days, a non-profit organization that gives children with cancer an opportunity to come together for a residential camping experience. The camp has now expanded almost statewide but was originally founded in the Rochester area. The competition is also held in Rochester where hundreds of judges gather to taste the various wines and spirits. Of course, this year’s set up was a little different with social distancing, masks and other safety procedures in place, but they were still able to host this wonderful event.

Our Winemaker attended as one of the judges and we also entered a handful of our wines into the competition. We are very proud to announce that our 2018 Riesling won Best Riesling in the overall global competition. Our String of Pearls also won a Double Gold medal and our 2019 Reserve Smith Brothers Riesling won a Silver medal.
